Mets Daily Discussion Thread – December 01, 2023


The Mets are teaming up with New York Cares for their 17th Annual Coat Drive presented by 1PointFive on Wednesday, December 6 from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Mets Team Store at Citi Field. Free parking will be available in Lot A.

Fans bringing a new or gently used winter coat will receive a voucher redeemable for two tickets to a select Mets home game in 2024. Please note that non-winter coats like windbreakers, jean jackets, raincoats or other light jackets will not be accepted. Fans will be limited to one (1) ticket voucher.

Make sure to stop by to visit the Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan in Lot A from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Take your picture with Santa, receive a complimentary can of Coke Zero Sugar, and more!

    Given that, it would be foolish to count out any high revenue team, though by now the field for Ohtani’s services has winnowed, sources said. The Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and New York Mets, who were among the initial group of suitors, have turned their attention to other players, sources said. Among those confirmed by sources to be still in the bidding: the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Toronto Blue Jays and Angels. The San Francisco Giants have long had a fondness for Ohtani, though where they stand in these sweepstakes is unknown.
