  1. if you are going to trade quantril and save $6m and clase and save $3m and $12m on Bieber, I would have rather them put that $21m towards a bat than some more possibly above average relief pitching which they seem to be able to find anywhere they want in the minors….oh well…$21m. Seems to me you could keep costs pretty low and get the prospects you love to bring in and still brought in a bat..

They really arent THAT far away from being a really good team again

Ramirez, giminez, naylor, kwan, bibee, allen, williams, mckenzie (hopefully) are more than good enough to be dangerous with just another bat or two, throw in Monzardo and Espino having a really good opportunity to also be good, this team has a lot of upside and super low payroll, just add one more bat at least and it could be a special team for a few years, before we have to say goodbye to ramirez naylor and probably mckenzie.

  2. Clase’s value has to be through the roof right?

Hard throwing closer without a history of injury issues coming off a dominant 2022 season and a well above average 2023 season (could argue his overuse played a part in his regression).

For a historically bad OF, all bets should be off in regard to getting drastically better there. Holding onto a bullpen arm is a luxury and not a neccessity, and I’d hope the Guardians FO would jump at the chance at moving him for a difference making OF.

  3. This is what they should be doing. Don’t freak out. The price tag will be ENORMOUS. Wanna give up an absolute haul for a closer who had some concerning regressions last yr but is a great value? We’re open to it, but you better come with a monstrous offer.

  4. I’d only be cool with this if we get Randy, otherwise, fucking why? He is a lock down closer who is on a very friendly contract for 3 more years, we should NOT be dealing him.

  5. Super tired of the team acting this way but I agree it makes sense for a giant haul. I really don’t see how a true impact bat is going to be acquired this off season without a little “pain”

  6. I’m not a big fan of what our closing pitcher options would realistically be if we dealt Clase. My big hopes were that he would improve on the off season and blow less saves this upcoming year, but to be fair, we just overused him last season. Even if we add 1 good bat to our lineup with dumping Clase and Bieber, I’m personally not stoked about it. We still have a team full of people who can’t hit. 1 bat is less valuable than pitchers we can potentially rely on.

  7. With everything the team needs I’d be fine trading him while we can get some solid return. Highly doubt he’s a dominant relief pitcher for the length of his contract anyway. He already looks to have regressed or hitters have adjusted better. The team needs to be in less save situations.

  8. everything this offseason seems to indicate either a minor step back before the ideal window fully begins or we’re dealing our best to get the players we need now to possibly contend. Either way all the reports are sad to see with the players we’ve grown to love the past few years possibly being dealt

  9. Can we just agree this FO screwed up the rebuild post 2019 and now we are looking at doing another reset. I’m guessing some of it is motivated by the TV situation, but they aren’t idiots and have known this TV situation was not going to go well for the past year or so.

  10. **NO**
    **NO**

I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD IF WE SELL OUR AL LEADING CLOSER IM GONNA LOSE MY SHIT

  11. lol

-rosario, -beiber, – quantril, – clase, -sarbaugh, -tito, – bell, – civale

    +vogt (C), 38

    hahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahah

  12. I would be open depending on the return. For a guy who hits triple digits, he doesn’t strike out many batters. Given the high leverage situations closers are put into, ideally I want someone who can rack up strikeouts or at least have the ability to get a big punch out with runners on. We also ran him into the ground last year, so I’m sure that had an adverse effect on his numbers.

I’d hate to lose Clase but I don’t think we are in a position where we shouldn’t listen to offers on him. The offer however would have to be substantial.

  13. Bro has 110 saves in 3 years here and he’s under contact for 4 more years what the hell are we doing?

We can’t tap into our billions of infield prospects to sweeten a potential Bieber package?
