Blue jays info: From the Blue Jays, the Padres could seek a package including one or more pitchers from a group that includes top prospect Ricky Tiedemann, Bowden Francis and Alek Manoah. The Jays, like other clubs, would be concerned about paying Soto $30-million plus for one season, then likely losing him as a free agent. But they are under pressure to win.
Btw- they want King and Schmidt from the Yankees. Lmao the padres hate the Yankees
All the shohei hype making Soto feel like a consolation prize is wild times.
Soto and Ohtani please.
Soto would be a heck of a get.
Wonder if Manson + Orevis + another gets it done
I like that FO realizes they have a special core, and how hard it is to win. Excited hearing that they’re being active in the market.
why not both? spend all the monies!
SoTani?
Not “if they fail” … Both please!!
The question is whether the prospects we have are enough. Tiedemann, Martinez are the starting point.
Beginning of last season, Bowden Francis carried little value and made the Tellez/richards/Francis trade fairly even. Now, Francis is coveted by opposing teams, amazing what patience and effort can do for a player
Bowden + Espinal + Prospect for Soto? The Padres do love collecting Shortstops.
Might be worth it just to fire up Vladdy.
Call me crazy but I don’t really want to give up Tiedemann + + for 1 year of Soto. He’s a Boras guy, he’s going to free agency
You know who would have gotten this trade done?…… Gabriel Moreno
Give us BOTH
Not interested in 1 year of Soto only.
Forget about Ohtrani. Soto will be amazing for the Jays.
Why not both?!
Get them both, I reckon
God, I’m going to discharge prematurely if these reports continue
Why not both? Acquiring Soto shows Ohtani that we’re serious about winning.
lol. Main the media is trying so hard to leverage the jays
Can you imagine if for a year our core was Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr, Juan Soto, and Shohei Ohtani? Lmao
Batting order
Soto Bo-to Sho-to Vla-to
Jays are interested lolo
What you will get come April “Varsho is in the best shape of his life, and feeling healthy” “Vlad is looking to take more pitches this year and get ahead of counts”
Good news tho Jays interested
If we somehow got Ohtani, why wouldn’t you pay a heavy price for Soto and go all in next year???
I dont see a downside. Win a World Series then maybe deal with the fallout, who cares
Barriera, Manoah, Santi and a couple mid level prospects.
Jays interested in everyone yet never make any moves
I think we can make a compelling package for soto. I’d offer orelvis, barreia, roden, and zuleta as a start. If we need to throw in manoah or jansen instead of zuleta I think I’d do it. Only guy reallly hard to trade is tiddy but it may be required to get it done. Soto is a damn fine consolation prize and he would be our best hitter and lefty bat since delgado.
If we land both, I promise you Rogers I’ll buy a ringtone or something.
Hey Juan, you’re our number two option, maybe 1B really. So we’ll call you when we figure out what 1A is doing. Okthnxbye.

I was literally shit my pants if we got Soto. I love Soto.
Everything about him is amazing
Or, and I’m just spitballing here, both?
I suppose I can settle for Soto, if it comes to that.
