Classic Mo selling guys at their absolute lowest value. I’m not even saying I disagree with trading TON because I’m over him but we’re not gonna get fair value.
Which players / what kind of return can we expect if we trade O’Neill and/or Carlson and/or Matz?
I wonder what it feels like to hear that the team is actively thinking of trading you
I think at this point, you have to accept any offer for TON and even a case a beer works in return
Headline circa 2020
Hasn’t the guy already been on the trade block for like three consecutive years anyway?
Yesssss
Our outfield has been overloaded for years with prospects and what do we really have to show for it?
Met him ATL this year, good guy. I think he has shown he has great potential if he can stay healthy. Definitely can understand why Mo is hearing offers on him though.
Obviously noot and walker will be 2/3 of our outfield positions next year. But if we trade O’neil I have no idea who gets the last spot. Edman, Carlson, Victor Scott, Burleson, and Palacios realistically have a chance. Not to mention Donovan can also be out there if we wanted him and Gorman in the lineup. We probably need to try to trade another guy on top of oneil to clear things up.
I understand the reasons behind this. I expect an underwhelming bullpen arm in return.
bench Edman S Utility- Palacios L OF/2B- Burleson L 1B/OF- Herrara R C
Trade – TON
The value that was on O’Neill is LONG gone. He’s a big bat, but with a body made of glass and that’s not lost on anyone, let alone the powers that be in other organizations.
I thought Ton was going to be an anchor in our outfield for years as someone that could not only give us great defense, but regularly bat .260-.270 or so, with 25-35 HR’s, and bat in 75+ guys a year. We got literally one year of that….
If O’Neill does get dealt, I’d be comfortable with a multi-player deal if it means another top end arm for the pen / rotation.
I doubt if Tyler is surprised I don’t think he’s been happy in St. Louis
I’d estimate we could get a player back with injury concerns or a bad salary as well. Hopefully we get a starter
