Finch: ‘Rudy on a mission to win a Championship’

Listening to Paul Allen right now on KFAN and Finch is on talking about the team and is dropping a lot of good nuggets. Says Rudy came into the season more locked in than any player he’s ever been around and is on a mission to prove to the league, prove to the fans, that the trade was worth it and he’s dialed in to win a Championship.

Also said the league is more wide open than ever and it has a lot of guys energized around the NBA.

Another thing he said which I thought was interesting is that the Wolves have “blackout days” where they do not allow players into the facility (unless they need treatment) specifically to protect them against themselves and give them time to rest.

**Edit:**

Looks like the segment has been uploaded. You can listen to it here:

  1. I strongly believe that the only thing we need, barring health, is Rudy to shoot like 60% in a close playoff game from the free throw line when they hack him. If no team can force an empty possession on us by hacking him it’s over for them.

  2. I just want to take this opportunity to say a few more things:

    – I love Rudy Gobert

    – Naz Reid

    – Anthony Edwards is that fucking dude

    – KAT is back in my good graces. Keep it up big PURR

    – Troy Brown Jr has ice in his veins with huge clutch plays after spending most of the season on the bench

    – After 23 years of watching Wolves basketball, I am more HYPED THAN EVER

    LFG!!!!

  3. Another interesting thing is he told KAT “you used to be the sun, but now you’re a planet.” Basically said that KAT has had the biggest spacing change with this lineup and KAT has handled the role changes on the court great.

  4. Have felt like the whole team is locked in and all credit to Rudy for leading the charge. He’s attacking on defense

  5. The biggest thing I see in this team is that they are this good and have so much more potential to be better. Teams will have a hot shooting night but defense travels and defense will prevail in any series. This team is built to win even when the offense isn’t clicking, and to grind down the opposition. The early season injuries to 2 of our top 4 players is just giving us a chance to develop guys like NAW and TBJ (and hopefully have Shake uhhh shake off whatever is going on with his game) and is a testament to how deep this team runs.

  6. The black out days is a great idea. I feel like our main guys are on the high end of minutes but I haven’t actually looked

  7. This year has definitely felt like a huge legacy push for Rudy and Conley. These guys know we have the talent to go for it and they want to make a run before their careers wind down

  8. Seems like his mobility has improved. If I remember right that was why he was seen as the type of player that raises your teams floor but once you got to the playoffs would make it difficult to beat the top teams. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how this team performs in the playoffs.
