Much needed win and great considering the defensive injuries

Phew, this was a trap game and with the injuries to Lavonte, Devin, and Britt, was a game we really could’ve lost. However, we pulled it off and though it wasn’t a huge margin, it was impressive we were resilient and pulled it off.

Defense: Not mad at their performance. Without the linebackers, we were not going to be a top run defense but we did just enough to keep them out of the end zone. I think the secondary played very well and the pass rush did apply pressure. I give Bowles credit for adjusting with the missing starters and making due with what he had.

Offense: Overall, I don’t think we had a great offensive game. Baker didn’t play very well today. Evans deserves a blank check. Longest TD and most YAC he’s had on a single play. He carried the entire offense. I still think it’s criminal we don’t involve Godwin. I don’t care how much defenses focus on Godwin and Evans because they’re finding ways to get Evans the ball. We need to scheme Godwin open but for some reason we can’t figure it out. Run game was average too but we got it done! Big game against Atlanta next week. A win and we have the conference tiebreaker, putting us at first in the division. We still have games against Atlanta, New Orleans, and Carolina so we need to really win those to distance ourselves in the division. Let’s go Bucs! Still want Bowles gone, even if we win the division lol.

  1. The linebacker thing really seemed like a much bigger deal in the first half.

What does everyone think changed in the 2nd? Panthers passed more? Bowles started trusting Russell and Watts more? Is my memory just getting shined up by the win?

  2. With the biblical downpour in 1st half neither team could do much. The 2nd half was the game.
