3. Clearly this is just click bait, but even if Stamkos was going waive and be traded this season (he’s not) it wouldn’t be to the Bruins and they shouldn’t want to give up assets for a 34 year old rental with the position they’re in right now

   Also it is a bit amusing how the article discusses how much Boston needs a center, yet they’re apparently targeting a guy who hasn’t played C in years.

9. I don’t think many people noticed but Bruins websites have been pumping this rumor since September. I’m not opposed to trading Stamkos if it is necessary but Boston doesn’t make sense. Yeah I hate them but that’s not the problem. The problem is that they have no assets to trade. Their prospect pool is trash and they have no draft picks. The list of teams with less to offer is extremely short.

   If Stamkos is traded in the division its more likely to be to Detroit or Toronto. Outside of the Atlantic NYR and Carolina might be able to make it work or Colorado out west.
