[Koreen] Dennis Schröder is the first Raptor to really acknowledge how important the next 20 are for the team, the implication being they’re running out of time to prove they’re capable of more than their record indicates.

  1. Writings on the wall, Dennis. Even with Scottie breaking out, this team is a mid team with an obvious ceiling. We need to refresh and retool around Scottie (no way they go full multi year tank + rebuild).

**Must Trade** Siakam’s time up is up here. Im a huge fan, but its time to move on. Get him to a good play off team (Orlando / Sac / OKC etc). One young player, decent filler (not bad contracts) and one good pick gets it done for an expiring Siakam who is having a messy year.

Personally, I like the Sac deal of Davion Mitchell, Huerter, Harrison Barnes and 1 x FRP. On first look this is not that sexy. But we have no NBA level depth, turning Siakam into three NBA level players and a pick is a win considering his expiring contract, shooting struggles this year and pending $40m+ deal.

**Should Trade** Dennis and Yak will attract real attention from good teams, both on very good contracts. One good player and one good pick for each. Garys value is so low, a handful of SRPs.

**Only For Overpay** I dont want to trade OG. He is the best 3+D wing in the league. But paying a guy $40m a year who cannot dribble makes me super nervous. If we were about to enter a window of contention with him at $40m as the third guy, I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. But paying a guy $40m to be 9th – 11th in the East? I would definitely at least explore an overpay.

  2. The first 20 were more important, they played like shit. next 20 are important for the players _if they want to stay on the team_.

  3. How I honestly see this playing out is that Masai feels the pressure from the fans to either extend Siakam/OG or trade them. What a lot of people don’t realize is no one in either conference is running away with the top spot. Yes Boston and Minnesota are insanely good teams but the top 5 seeds in each conference genuinely have a shot at going DEEEEEEEP in the playoffs.

In the East I can see Indiana, Orlando and Atlanta (if they can go on some solid runs) checking in about the availability of Siakam and OG. All three have assets and all three I can see convincing themselves that they’re one piece away from NBA immortality. Indiana I can see offering packages of Nembard and Mathurin with a pick and/or swaps for Siakam and probably Precious.

The west if we’re doing a deal with the kings which a lot of people have been reporting than I say Keegan Murray or bust. We gotta go hard ball if we’re gonna deal with the kings in this aspect. Perhaps Murray and Barnes plus a pick for moving Siakam/OG and Flynn? The kings definitely will get desperate to make a push as this is the most competitive they’ve been in years.

I’d also look into moving Yak and sadly Denis. Both are positive assets to move and we all know teams will definitely look at them and check their availability. I’d try to move them for either young assets or future draft capital from contenders like GSW, SAC, OKC, Orlando, Miami and Cleveland. Young guys I can see being targeted are Kuminga, Cole Anthony, Davion Mitchell, Wallace, etc. if we’re going to just go into a rebuild I say go all in and stock up on the building blocks and actually put some young studs that can grow with Scottie.
