These are the types of projects we should be taking on at this stage of the franchise. Previously highly rated LHD, could take on a contract and get ourselves a Tippet for the blue line

/s obviously I know we’re in a rebuild and I agree with OP that taking on these gamble projects could be good for us ONLY IF we don’t give up other “project” pieces in exchange

  2. Depends what we can get, they would need to pony up a pick to get anything from us at this point and I don’t think we should be in the business of solving other teams problems for cheap. If they want to dump a failed prospect for Walker, I want a 2nd minimum along with it and if they’re looking at Hart it’s at first+

  3. Given what Tortorella has seemingly managed to do with Sanheim and Ristolainen, and even some of the young forwards, I have a lot of trust that Torts could use these rebuilding years to turn Broberg into a really nice player.

My crazy pro-rebuild brain would offer them Hart in exchange for Broberg, Campbell, this year’s first rounder, and an additional future pick. See how badly Holland and the brass in Edmonton want to salvage this season.

  4. I wholeheartedly agree. During the limbo years of the rebuild we should 100% be testing different project players, especially if they can be had at a bargain.

But we can’t even find room on the roster for our own projects, let alone proactively trade for more.

  5. I’m not against the idea, but moreso the fit. Unless someone like Seeler is moving out, there’s already too many left shot mouths to feed.

I imagine Edmonton would want a similar young player needing a change of scenery in return, and I just don’t know who that would be from the Flyers that isn’t a LHD, leading to the same logjams that existed before the trade.

Obviously the Flyers have a glut of right shot wingers, but I think all of them are better/more proven/more valuable than what Broberg has shown. Maybe I’m off base with that, but why is Edmonton looking to move Broberg if he’s showing NHL staying potential like Brink?

  6. Our team is so stacked. We can def make waves in the playoffs. Anything can happen once the playoffs start.

  7. Any trade involving CAMPBELL? I am out on that’s a nonstarter for me. He is horrendous. I live in the Edmonton area and I’ve seen pretty much every game he’s played and Carter Hart is a goalie. I’m willing to rebuild around. Those are hard to find that’s why Edmonton is looking for one and if I’m training, Hart It’s going to cost them a hell of a lot more than that
