Tavius Robinson is emerging and “(MIGHT)”, be our edge defenser next year.

Against the Bengals, Tavius Robinson showed excellence at the edge. Tavius has had a limited role, mainly due to the amount of edge Rushers the ravens went and signed such as Clowney, And Van Noy, as well as having Oweh, Bowser, and Ojabo (last 2 are MIA). We’ve seen in Mike Macdonalds playbook, several stunts and disguises on defense. Since as the first 2 images. We see Tavius loop around inside and work an excellent inside move on the guard for the second time this game(images are out of order chronologically) and put pressure on Jake Browning as shown in photo 2. In photos 3 to 5 something similar happens, where he beats the Left Guard inside again, and it results in a sack, the first of his career. We also see him effective in the run, in image 6 where he sets the edge and takes on pulling Guards without losing ground forcing Mixon inside. There are also plays where he stands up Orlando brown Jr in run defense, stopping Mixon for a minimal gain.

Ojabos and Bowsers absence has given Robinson some much needed reps and time to learn and gain experience. Since Ojabo went down, I believe he has the edge over him in potential playing time, considering this would not be the first time Ojabo has had a season denting injury. Also, he’s only in year 2. Depending on how he develops under chuck smith this off-season, he could be a forced to be reckoned with in Mike Macdonalds defense.
