  1. Danny Parkins said on air that it wasn’t a chance encounter, Jed intentionally sought him out.

Get him, Jed. Boob putting false information out there only hurts the Cubs.

  2. Maybe we were never in on Ohtani and were just using the rumors as leverage to score some trades. Jesus I don’t even know any more man I’ve mind fucked myself over and over from all this bs “news”

  3. Ohtani is so much smarter than us that he realized the secrecy of his FA would be way more fun.

  4. What would Boob gain from putting this report out? I assume nothing…just bad look on him. But another exec from an “in” team could perhaps gain something…total conspiracy but I choose to run with that theory.

  5. Fuck yeah, Go Jed. I’m so glad he’s saying something. Boob’s reports seemed like they had an agenda.

  6. Bob nightengale. The same bob nightengale that personally works as Jerry reinsdorf’s media weasel

  7. What boob said never made much sense. Money is not the limiter this offseason. All words (obfuscated or otherwise) by Hoyer and others in past seasons vs. this season are so different that they are practically shouting they will spend. As much as they were criticized for the lack of desire to spend in past offseasons, I can see why Hoyer is so defensive when it gets wrongly stated this offseason. Especially in regards to a unicorn like Ohtani. He had every right to get in boob’s face about it.

Guarantee some of the non-stop doomer fans will latch onto that comment though and use it to feed negativity every time something goes wrong next season.

  8. I’m convinced baseball media doesn’t want us to have him. This reminds me of how Hockey fans and media got when the Blackhawks got Connor Berard.

  9. White Sox fan that grew up on the South Side and am finding it harder and harder to hate the Cubs.

    Down with Boob!

  10. It would be great if Jed raises his final offer that would blow the Dodger’s offer out of the water because of this, not that that would guarantee that it would get the deal done but may undo the damage of the balking part, if any happened.

  11. Boob’s report made no sense. Everyone knew the cost of doing business for Ohtani was $500 million. If the Cubs weren’t comfortable with that they wouldn’t have been in the mix at all

  12. I know that the Cubs’ chances of getting Ohtani were never, like, a lock, but now if he doesn’t sign in the Windy City I’m choosing to blame Boob for all of eternity

    Get his ass, Jed
