I mean, I don’t think this was anywhere near the first such “good time” for it, just the most prominent
This is such a backhanded compliment lol
Knowing Ohtani’s love for privacy and keeping things quiet makes Atkins the best guy around for this kind of pursuit. I know we’ve piled on him especially the way this past season ended but in this regard he’s probably one of the best GMs around. Even when it’s a normal free agency/trade scenario Atkins tends to keep things very close to the vest.
