  1. Meh, he’s a starting pitcher with an era of 4.4 across both double A and triple A. I’m fine with this selection, Connor showed he wasn’t it. Maybe this Molina cat could show something

  2. Molina, 22, at 6’1” 190lbs was a international signing out of Venezuela in 2018. He works with a sinker/slider/changeup combo. His sinker sits around 94 and tops at 97 and grades at 50/55. His slider has low spin and vertical break and his weakest pitch grading at 35/40. His best pitch, his changeup sits in the mid 80s and is his whiff pitch grading at 55/60. His command leaves some to be desired but has good projections for the future as he gets more professional experience, grading at 35/55.

In his 2023 campaign he threw 66.1 innings in AA (15 starts) with a 4.61 ERA. In 55.2 IP (12 starts) with AAA he had an 4.37 ERA. With AAA his K/9 stood at 8.08 and his BB/9 was at 2.91 and a HR/9 of 0.81. His GB% was 40.3%. Rockies scouting corps views him as a potential Marquez with his stats mirroring German’s around this point in his career.

If he can improve his command and slider he could slot into a rotation spot and be effective with his ability to keep the ball in the yard and on the ground while also missing bats with his changeup. Until then expect him to start in a long relief role and rack up some MLB experience until given a chance to prove himself as a MLB starter.
