This would be the best possible move going forward.

Bring in a galaxy brain GM. The Raiders have had hit and miss drafts for literally 40 + years. Let’s stop that nonsense.

  1. I gotcha fam.

Keep everything the same, move up if necessary and draft Latu in the 1st round.

    Boom, where’s my millions?

  2. Wow great idea. I’m gonna write that down and add a few of my own:

    1. Hire a galaxy brain GM.
    2. Draft a HoF QB.
    3. Hire a head coach who will win like 10 Superbowls at least.

I don’t know why every front office doesn’t do this?

  3. Obviously if any of the elite GMs currently is available it’s probably worth trading for them. Even if the price is steep.

However, more realistically, the raiders will go after the guy under the GM. I genuinely think this is a fine approach but pick someone off a team’s front office that’s been great at drafting recently. Not someone who impresses in an interview and most definitely not a guy hand picked by the head coach.

This is my main concern with Champ getting the job. Do I like that he’s reportedly well respected across the league, yes. But when examining the draft history of the bears, I’m not exactly blown away.

  4. A name I’d love but I see little fanfare for is Joe Hortiz. The dude has had his hand in the scouting/drafting process for the Ravens for 20+ years. The Ravens are hands down one of the best drafting franchises during that span.

  5. Just draft the best QB of all time. Actually just get all the best players, coaches and front office. It’s that easy right?

  6. Here’s what I want. HIRE THE GM FIRST.

Not after, not at the same time, FIRST. Let the GM be a part of the process. I’m tired of letting HC have way too much personnel power. They need to shut the fuck up, sit down, and let the GM do their job without meddling.

  7. The mentioned list is pretty funny. Vinny says bring a good proven GM and then he lists Snead and Roseman when neither of them were GM at the moment their teams hired them.
So it’s exactly what we just did: give a chance to an inexperienced executive.
And then Pollian as if drafting Peyton Manning with the first pick wasn’t the real recipe of success of Colts
