  1. Absolutely! Just watched an ESPN clip of Greeny show talking about how insane that combo is not only now but in context of all-time duos. I’m ready for the season to start now!

Only downside to your premise is that Soto is gonna have to go easy on hitting dingers to not rob Judge of RBI opportunities.

  2. I think we need to figure out who our lead off is and then bat soto/judge 2-3 depending on that. If it’s Torres, go soto-judge. If it’s Verdugo, go judge-soto. In an ideal world, volpe can lead off and get on base with his speed. Then you go soto-judge after.

Judge batting after soto makes sense because soto gets on base and judge can finally start turning solo shots into 2-3 run homers. Soto after judge makes sense because no one is going to pitch around judge to get to soto

  3. I always marveled at the impact of Ortiz/Manny. Best lefty righty one two punch I ever saw. Soto/Judge is going to be even better.

  4. Soto after Judge is far more plausible, and Soto prefers it. Judge is a beast hitting #2, and Soto likes to bat 3rd. You have nothing to lose by sticking to that. Everybody is happy, which matters if you’re trying to set a good example for Soto in a bidding war. If money is equal but the Yankees play him where he doesn’t like, he’ll go somewhere else.

Yeah it’s politics, but also, you can’t go wrong batting either in front of the other.

  5. I hope the Yanks bat someone after Judge who can protect Judge otherwise I see Judge getting walked a lot. In 1961, Mantle batted behind Maris which probably helped Matis get better pitched to hit (not taking anything away from his historic season). However, Howard batted 5th and so he was the protection for Mantle. We need that type of lineup for next year. I’m not confident Stanton can be that guy.

  6. “Or perhaps I’ve misread this whole thing, and the big story for 2024 is not going to be Soto’s 140-run season, but Anthony Rizzo’s 170-RBI season hitting behind Soto and Judge”

You heard it here first kids

  7. I understand there’s been some batting order drama with Soto in the past, but you absolutely hit him in front of Aaron Judge. Idgaf if that means Judge hits 4th, if Soto is really that pressed about being 3rd.

Ideally I would leadoff Soto with Judge right behind
