I’m about to end my fandom with the Guardians because their league is 100% not giving a shit about any team outside of New York City and Los Angeles. We’re here thinking we can’t sign a free agent due to Bally going bankrupt while LA and NYY add elite, expensive talent to ramp up a title run.
This sport without a salary cap just isn’t fun in most cities.
cleveland’s offer of 4 years/3.5 million per with a club option for a 5th year was considered but ultimately, shohei chose to stay in california because or the weather.

Just a completely different sport than what the Guardians play.
Kinda bummed, was hoping he’d be in the AL so I could watch him play a bit more.
Dolan needs to ask Haslam for a loan or some shit.

Not being able to be a legitimate free agent contender is one thing, but knowing that 90 percent of your favorite players on your team are going to be dealt at their peak value is an even bigger kick in the balls. Fuck baseball.

Newsflash having an owner who actually spends on their product will have a better product than the one who doesn’t. I love baseball not having a salary cap as these incredible athletes get paid the money that they deserve unlike football. Maybe this could make Dolan realize he ain’t built for this. I really don’t get why people are upset Ohtani’s getting paid this much. He deserves it.
For the longest time I’ve been ok with the way MLB worked, but it’s getting impossible to stay competitive when teams can keep dropping insane amounts of money. Need some sort of cap and floor implemented. Small market teams just won’t stand a chance at all at this rate.
Get prepared for the thousands of commercials that he’s going to be doing. Over saturation
