I’m a believer in things flipping upside down when they seem to be going so far in one direction. I can read the tea leaves that the dodgers signing Ohtani for such a sum will backfire and lead to the padres finally gathering their grit and winning the division. I’d bet on it

Ohtani is the best player in baseball right now, but I’m not convinced the amount they paid him was worth the value. They may end up in a situation like we are being too top heavy. Not to mention who knows how close he can return to his prior form after 2 TJSs.
EDIT: The deal includes ‘unprecedented deferrals’ i.e. we are f-ed 🙂
