Don’t care what anyone says, that was intentional and Joseph needs to be looked into. Last night was emotional for everyone but there’s no excuse for this especially since Walman got fined for less just the other day. Do your job NHL.

1. Agree completely, but our own coach came out after the game and said the refs got it right.

4. Was my exact feeling, which is why the post-game presser was discouraging. Not sure what the motivation would have been to dismiss this egregious act as simply part of the game.

6. Was at the game and seated behind the Wings net when this occurred. Totally had no clue what happened. Just saw bodies in front of the net then a Red Wing laying on the ice.

   The guy next to me was a military veteran, pretty cool guy, and he said there’s a spot under the jaw where if you punch it at the right angle and with enough force, you’re out cold a few seconds later. This pic shows exactly where the veteran indicated where to hit too…

   The Sens sub praising Joseph is cringe. At the end of the day, you should be a fan of hockey and not wish this on anyone, period. I saw comments of Wings fans being racist. Yet to see that here on this sub but I can’t speak to r/hockey or r/NHL, as I rarely visit those toxic subs. Those few bad apples don’t represent our fan base at all.

   For Perron’s cross check, I will say that it was nasty and he only targeted Zub because when Perron turned around and saw Larkin unconscious on the ice, Zub was just getting up from slightly falling on Larkin. I’m sure Perron thought that Zub took him down in that play. Remember, hockey is a really fast game.

8. Watching the replay last night there is a camera angle where you can literally see Joseph take his eyes away from the play, look at Larkins head, raise his hands and stick then clocks him in the back of the head.

   Not a net front scuffle. Not off balance.

   Intentionally targeted the back of his head.

   If Joseph doesn’t decide to take a dirty shot there, they other guy coming is doesn’t catch the other side of Larkins head as he’s going down to the ice.

    I’m just at a loss. Even just fighting with Joseph, regardless of win/loss takes him off the ice for 5. With what just happened to our captain, Joseph shouldn’t be able to play hockey the rest of the night. Fight, or bench. Pick one.

18. This is the same league where dudes try to knock each other unconscious on purpose with multiple bare fisted blows to the head, on a nightly basis, without a sniff from DOPS – ain’t nothing going to happen to Joseph.

    The coach agreed it was the right call, the refs agreed it was the right call, replay review showed it was the right call… but the randoms in this sub…. lots of ‘doing our own research energy’ right now.

19. I’ll admit that I didn’t watch the game last night, but did see the play. My first concern was for his wife. I really hoping she wasn’t at the game, or watching live. After everything they’ve gone through recently, I can’t imagine what it’d feel like to see her husband go down like that.
