[Dugar] (responding to someone saying we should draft a QB) At this rate, anyone playing QB for SEA would have to consistently outplay his supporting cast — on both sides of the ball and in the headsets. And that’s an unrealistic expectation for anyone, let alone a young dude.

  1. This is pretty accurate imo.

Whoever you have at QB almost doesn’t matter given the O Line’s play and the playcaller’s refusal to account for that – and adjust on the fly.

Drafting a QB is a lateral move at best. We need linemen. And maybe a change at OC.

  2. We still need a young QB to build with, both of the guys we have will lose you just as many games as they will win you.

That said, holy shit, the Seattle media is starting to turn on the FO and it’s getting more brazen by the week. If they drop 5 it’s gonna get ugly

  3. PC is a fraud, DK is easily baited (every team is wise to that), Seahawks have the worse safety team in the NFL, and Jody is an absentee owner. This mess won’t get fixed anytime soon.

  4. QB is still a need IMO in the long term picture but wholesale coaching changes, IOL investment, and an entire restructuring of defensive finances need to come before Geno is to be replaced. With time and an ounce of offensive creativity, he very easily can manage a top 10 offense.

Pete’s still here for the foreseeable future if he wants to be, given Jody Allen’s “involvement” with the team and his business title, so I hope he realizes a fundamental change to their scheme is needed and allows a young DC and OC to take the jobs, unhindered.

  5. As is tradition, we need both D and O line to be solid and both suck ass. I don’t know what went wrong from the start of the season to now but both lines did a total 180 and are playing terribly…

  6. Draft a QB, sit and develop him behind Geno while we fix the team. Look at what Jake Browning is doing with the Bengals. I didn’t think he had what it took to be NFL level but he’s playing his heart out right now and looking good.

This is a deep QB draft class I think not taking a QB would be a bad move.

  7. That’s been the case for a while now. Last year everything just got blamed on Russ (and he definitely deserves his share, don’t get me wrong), but the problems that happened while he was here are still happening even with decent QB play

  8. How long does the losing streak have to get before we need to say goodbye to Pete? I still have faith in him but it’s definitely waning. Culture was under a microscope today.

If nothing else, I want ejections to be followed by benchings, at least a quarter. DK hasn’t learned anything. Hardly playing for anything this season anyway, start punishing bad behavior.

  9. I’m surprised Mike has such a short-sighted take here. How a rookie QB would play with this particular roster is totally irrelevant.

Acquiring the young QBOF along with the next coaching regime are the two biggest steps that will allow this team to climb out of Pete Carroll mediocrity.

The goal is to rebuild the program into an actual contender again. QB and coach long term replacements both have to happen as soon as possible, to get the process started.
