Thoughts on Jayden Daniels? At least this LSU QB will pan out better than JaMarcus Russell.

When you compare anyone to Jabust we should pass
Really good mobile QB, his frame may worry some people (listed and said he played 208-212). Probably needs to gain a little weight (which should come). Elevated his passing game in his final year, but you’ll wonder if it was system related or if he actually made the leap his showed on tape. For those that like pocket passers more, they’ll wish he stayed in pocket more instead of bailing.
His tape/performance at this point make him a top 3-5 QB, really depends on what a team wants out of their QB.

We’ll have to probably trade Adams to make it happen.

I will say I’m a little concerned about his size. He looks super skinny. I’d still be willing to draft him if he’s there

Keep in mind that with Jimmy’s dead cap and AOC on a rookie contract, they are all but guaranteed to be on the roster next year. With that, odds are we will start AOC, and Jimmy will be the backup.

Going with a rookie QB means going through all the growing pains all over again. Aidan initially had trouble with fumbles, but he’s gotten more comfortable in the pocket and knows how to protect the ball.
Any rookie QB coming in is going to have rookie problems.
We need OL, DTs, and CBs.

Running backs do great with mobile QBs, making us not have to spend as much money there, defense has to scheme completely differently facing a QB that can run. I want the kid bad. Fuck BO Nix having to leave Auburn. Penix last name is Penix and he’s also been hurt.
I wanna see this kid in the silver and black next season. Wear a number a Raiders QB hasn’t and lead us with the Autumn Wind.

I think he transferred from ASU, partly because of the violations that the coaching staff were committing. I Don’t think AP had much to do with that and if he and Jayden are on good terms, AP and champ will go get him. Saw Jayden play in person twice. He’s the real deal.
Okay don’t get me wrong I absolutely despise in 99% of cases draft pundits going on about “character issues” in a prospect because it always has a vague dog-whistle tone to it that rubs me the wrong way, BUT, I’ve seen a couple alarming things out of him in the past couple weeks:
-The Heisman jacket. Penix Jr had all his teammates in his liner, Daniels had the Heisman Trophy. Clear difference in mindset “we versus me” there.
-Daniels is apparently sitting out the Bowl which I grant you is a fairly common thing these days however much I might dislike it, BUT, he’s apparently the only one of the starting set who’s reporting as a healthy scratch. That sets off massive red flags to me. You lead your team here, the team that worked their ass off for you all season long, and now on the big day you’re going to desert them because you’re afraid of getting injured and it hurting your draft stock. You trusted them all season to have your back but not in this moment? That dog don’t hunt.
I could be wrong. I hope I’m wrong. Maybe he puts up record Combine numbers and gets a 50 on the Wonderlic and then goes on to light the league up. But I’m just not sure right now that this is the guy for us in this moment.
