  1. Just as I was about to whine that Bednar doesn’t seem to be calling the team out as much as he should, leave it to Toews.

    I mean he’s absolutely right, I just wonder who he’s thinking of specifically.

  3. People can point their fingers all they want goaltending but goddamn, defense has just been subpar with sloppy ass turnovers.

  4. Here’s not wrong. I’ve been waiting for this team to find its identity/game but it’s not coming together. They were sending passes to nowhere running into each other all night. No good plays or scoring chances setup, just kinda frantic and hoping for the best.

  5. He very specifically says that there are 6 guys that aren’t playing to the system.

    My guess is they’d be: Rants, Byram, RyJo, Wood (especially after tonight), and who else?

  7. I have my theories as to who he’s talking about… but I’ll stay silent on that. This is not good and is living proof that this team hasn’t found their identity yet.

  10. We knew this season was a gamble with very limited cap space. Look at the roster right now… we have 2 certified Goal Scorers and a bunch of grinders. I’d be real interested to dig into the tape and see who he’s talking about that “isn’t where they’re supposed to be” on the ice. Seems like a coaching / systems issue and I absolutely think the guys could turn it around. Would a coaching change help? The roster just isn’t that good tho, to me. I also think the team can focus on developing chem, learning systems, and hopefully can lock in later down the road. But it’s a bummer to look at our top six, even when we’re healthy. Ryjo is a miss imo but I actually like watching the other new guys for the most part.

  11. Welp, everything Taser says in the clip is pretty damning, and it speaks volume about team discipline and cohesion. It also matches what we’re seeing on ice game after game. I can’t imagine our locker room being a pretty good environment right now. We really need to start fixing things before this becomes more than a late-year slump, but six people represent a non-trivial problem.

  12. This is gut check time. It’s the time to soul search and put the blame aside. Everyone can play better everyone can make mistakes. We have yet to find consistency and chemistry. Stats, points aside we are not a terrible hockey team and are in a playoff position today and should not be on the outside looking in unless we really can’t gel with new players and injuries.

    We also played like shit to a shitty Arizona Coyotes team in the regular season during our cup year so anything can happen between now and then.
