I’d be very happy with these numbers if accurate. Hope Preller doesn’t pull some Preller shit like adding an extra 6 years of player option at $10m/per, but only if he’s bad.
Seems like a good deal for us even if he isn’t as dominant as he was in Japan.
I’d love to sign Imanaga as a starter, but I think he’s going to be over budget in this market.
We have signed Hiroki Matsui, a 28 year old unemployed man living with his parents in Nagoya. Yuki Matsui is still meeting with other teams.
Assuming no opt outs or any weird options… I think that is a good signing.

Not a bad deal if he can become a decent consistent serviceable arm in the pen.
The gamble will be the league adjustment and if his stuff is as tight when tossing a bigger ball. Will have some effect on spin rate and break. Getting past that or how he works thru that while maintaining the same stuff is the story to follow.
His entire game sets around insane ball movement. If he keeps that, we are in good shape. If it gets cut back 10-15%, he could get shelled because a low 90’s FB isn’t going to save him.
He is what Heath Bell was to Hoffman. Suarez our next saves leader.
