Despite having one of the smallest fan bases in the country, the Chargers are 14th in revenue stream when taking in the difference between revenue and operating budget. This is mostly due to being in the LA TV Market.

  1. Additionally, the Chargers have the third smallest operating budget in the league, which includes coaches salaries. You can bet the owners are considering this when asking themselves how much splurging on a fancy coach is gonna mean for the team in terms of profit. The owners have shown us repeatedly, all they care about is profits.

EDIT: The Chargers are second to last in merchandise purchases too.

I’m sure people will be looking at other website’s data trying to claim the Chargers fan base is rather large but those figures are simply looking at ticket sales for each game, it doesnt take into account who is there for the other team. If anyone has been to a Chargers game in LA, it’s an away game every game for us. That’s why merchandise sales is so important in determining the actual size of the fan base.

EDIT2: If anyone is curious, the Chargers are 26th in revenue stream when you don’t consider the operating budget.

  2. The ex charger fans in san diego that hate watch every game should count towards the fanbase total

  3. I’ve been trying my best to get chargers merch that’s not too expensive but ever since they came to LA and I started getting into football, I’ve loved them! I actually got a nice chargers poster a few days ago at my local store

  4. Well they were around 17-20th when playing in san diego, so this is such a weird stat lmao

  5. The Rams earn double the Chargers. Same market. Same stadium same market. Kinda shitty.

  6. Still need to rent a stadium like it’s a conference room and pay our coach a bottom 5 salary. The Spanii are either about to confirm or repudiate a lot of peoples’ perception of how they run the team with their hiring decisions.
