Matthews is one of the greatest players ever. This is not debatable. It’s also not the point of this post.
There is a little something extra to his cellies when he is on fire. There is the usual hell ya fist pump, the pointing to the guy who made the pass and the smile. It is the smile I’m referring to. It’s almost like he has more fun when he’s scoring multiple goals. I know he is because there is no worry. But it comes through in everything even to how he walks into the rink.

Best release in the league. His ability to break up plays, and lift sticks, in all zones, is amazing to watch.
But…too often, especially in OT, he just seems to fuck…the…dog, where it’s like he goes into some trance, and just doesn’t give a shit about what’s happening.
