Best RB Franchise Ever?

Throw in CJ2k and it’s no contest!

  1. It’s such a great picture. I was really bummed about Henry’s comments post game. He deserves to feel that way. I really want him to be a Titan for life. He’s 100% Titan and one of the best to ever play.

Full disclosure, I booed on that wildcat run in OT. I felt some shame about that after I read his post game comments. He deserves a lot from this fanbase

  2. It’s either us or the Rams imo. Dickerson, Faulk, Jackson, Gurley is tough to call against Campbell, George, CJ2K, Henry.

The bears also have sweetness, sayers and forte which is pretty damn good, but not in the same tier.

  3. I actually think this title belongs to the rams as much as it pains me to say.

    Eric Dickerson
    Marshall Faulk
    Steven Jackson
    Todd Gurley

  4. Absolutely the Titans.

The question is if you could take the 4 best running backs in their prime from any franchise for a season – having to use them as a committee, which team would you pick?

With the Titans, I think the franchises aiming for the title of “best rb franchise” would be The Bears, Browns, Rams, Cowboys, Steelers, Rams, and Colts.

Even with the Bears and Browns having Jim Brown and Walter Peyton – Who I consider along with Barry Sanders as the 3 greatest RBs of all time, I’d still pick Tennessee. Do any of those other franchises top 4 compare with Cambell. George, CJ2k, and Henry in their prime – they may have 1 or 2 that are on that level but not 4.

Tennessee holds the edge to me as we have historically always been a running team without great qbs – with the exceptions of Moon and McNair of course. We are also one of the worst WR franchises ever (with all of our elite talent quickly leaving after a few seasons). And yet without great Qb play (with occassional exceptions) or with other elite playmakers at reciever, our RBs consistently produce.

Even when we have great QB play, our franchise has still been a run first mentality with our coaches running the “run and shoot” offense or “Ground and Pound”, “Smash and Dash”, and “Exotic smash mouth” concepts with RPO and bootlegs mixed in. Lately, we have been a play action heavy team.

And despite having stacked boxes and a soft passing game without other great recievers, we are generally a top running team. Even in the years without having an elite running back we are able to run our offenses effectively with players like Chris Brown and Lorenzo White (not that they are bad players, I just mean they don’t need to be elite names to be a focal point of the offense). What other franchise can do that without an elite feature back driving the engine with no passing game to support? That is why, to me, we are the best overall running franchise.
