I agree completely with your locks. Those 4 are safe and shouldn’t be where we vent our frustration on the team, it’s literally everyone else. Likewise, people blaming Cade can’t be serious. The fact he can still put up good numbers despite being swamped by opposing teams even with the turnovers shows that with a competent team around him he’s an easy all-star.
My biggest issue is with Weaver. Shit drafting, shit trading, and a old school mentality. In this NBA, shooting is key over defense imo. Get a good offensive team, then worry about defense after by either asking guys to step up or make moves. Building a team defensive oriented isn’t going to work with kids on the roster (no offense obviously). So fire Weaver and go from there.
Ivey is trash and always has been!
Well I certainly don’t want Joe Ingles, but agree on bringing in vets. I think the Rockets were a little haphazard, but I like that they have started to fill out the roster around their draft picks and sent away the young guys that weren’t going to make the final form
if the FO had a brain they’d trade bogey to NYK to get their first back and then route a 2025 FRP, multiple seconds, bagley, and fournier to washington for kuzma. cade is untouchable, duren is a cheap big so why move him, ivey and ausar im not married to
If weaver is fired the next GM prob won’t spend In FA and we’ll ‘tank’ for another couple years
I want Quickley as our pg to pair with Cade. He’s a reasonable target and he has the opportunity to do what Brunson did when he moved to NY
One step play. Have Jimmy Butler bring in some college kids and whoop their ass in practice.
Troy Weaver: *That’s so simple! Why didn’t I think of that?!*
I like it!!
The four locks are right, though I feel that Ivey might be our one true way of bringing in someone worthwhile without an off-season overpay. As far as the ones to price check:
-ATL just paid Okongwu and he’s their (logical) Capela replacement. Griffin would be a steal -Beauchamp is Ausar with a marginally better jumper -WAS won’t move on Deni (just paid him); Kispert may be gettable -Keldon and Cam are ideal. Keldon seems the most realistic -Not much of an opinion on the others…wait, an absolute NO on Lavine. Those knees and the remaining contract are onerous as hell
I’m not sure we can get Oubre, Hield , Hayward won’t want to come here, let alone a 2 year deal. Also, they gotta sort out what kind of deal we are offering Cade/Ivey/Duren.
Just curious. What do you think the pistons would look like if they were pick positive? They certainly wouldn’t have Bojan (part of the shooting needed around Cade) and likely wouldn’t have Duren either. I’m not a Weaver fan by any means but he started with one of the worst situations in the last 40 years in the NBA (zero assets to gain meaningful picks, zero extra picks), a roster that won enough games to not get a top pick his first year, and like every Detroit team the lottery goes against us.
It’s a six point plan. One point per day. Six points we fix the team!!
