I know everyone wants the springy, lengthy stretchy 5 who can defend 1-5, shoot 110% from 3 on heavy volume, and can leap tall buildings in a single bound, but I appreciate the productivity and professionalism that JV brings on the regular.
I want JV to retire a pel idgaf. For years we wished we had a center like him. He does everything you want him to. Rebounding, post moves, mid range, 3pts, free throws, communication, hustle, consistently, and availability.

I definitely understand wanting to trade him for Jarrett Allen, but I’ve really liked him on the team. He’s solid most of the time, often the only guy who consistently rebounds, occasionally can carry the team, and sends to be a good culture fit. I’ve said before, all the reddit GMs kept taking about trading him for Myles Turner, but having watched a bunch of Pacers games this season, In sure we would have lost 3-4 more games this season if we had even traded them straight up.
Jonas’ defense took an unexpected leap this season which makes me inclined to keep him till the wheels fall off and even past that so he can teach whatever Center we draft
