Who would you want for Rubio’s contract?

Sucks to see Rubio go. He had a huge impact on our culture. I’d like him to come back, but that doesn’t seem likely atm

Unfortunately, with all the injuries and lack of bench utilization until recently, it is hard to gauge what exactly our roster needs. Maybe another bigger wing defender? You can never have enough of those. But those are probably a little too highly valued. A Stretch big with a skillset similar to Davis Bertans?That’d be cool. But what teams are willing to dump a big that can space the floor, on a cheap(ish) deal. What are your thoughts? Do we just hold on to his contract Incase he comes back?

  1. Davis B or Theis type if available, big guard who can’t shoot second priority to complement Ty (Delon Wright), third priority a giant space eater like a Drummond with an actual BBIQ

  3. Danilo Gallinari makes pretty much the same as Rubio so the salary works. He’s 35, expiring, and coming off an ACL. Still, he looks decent playing like 15 mpg on the tanking Wizards. Could be a decent depth stretch big piece that brings some nice passing. A protected 2nd round pick should get it done, he’s likely a buy out candidate if no one offers even that.

    Depending on what the Raptors do towards the deadline and if he’s able to actually play, Otto Porter Jr. would be another option

    Would’ve loved to grab Patrick Williams cheap for like 3 2nd round picks and Rubio+Jones salary as filler when he was struggling early. He’s turning around his season lately though and I think the bulls keep him

  5. I’d honestly rather see the minutes go to Bates than to go out and sign someone. Porter, Jerome, LeVert, Okoro, and Merrill are the backup guards. Thompson, Niang, Wade and Bates should fill out the rest of the roster.

  6. A big wing that can defend and shoot the 3 a little. They don’t have to be in the rotation when every one is healthy, but I’d like someone other than Okoro and Wade that can defend on the perimeter.

    Trade: Jae’sean Tate and Reggie bullock for Jones, Rubio and 2nds?

  7. Lets do Rubio + Jones for Mamu and Julian Champagnie. Pat Williams is the other guy I’d be interested in.
