The team’s in a rebuild. They refuse to just tank. Though they should. Darko is a Tank Commander in disguise.
No serious basketball team should have so few shooters
Can’t believe the whole Reddit last year including me blamed NN for overplaying the starting 5 and boring iso play when we are not winning. And believe the FO fart that FVV and Siakam are to be blamed for it.
I’m starting to think that Darko actually is actively tanking without wanting to say so out loud

Coach needs to put Gary in the starting line up and have Dennis accept his role as a very good bench guard. He is not a starting level PG

The front office has set Darko up to fail with a shit roster that doesn’t have enough shooting or depth for the 4th season in a row. But Darko is also not putting this team in the best position to win
And don’t get it twisted. This team has been mandated to win. We added Yak, a “top 10 centre” and then doubled down on paying him this offseason. We were trying to make win now moves to add Dame to this team. This might change (please lord) at the deadline, but this group of players, coachin staff and front office have been trying to win. They are not “developing” or rebuilding.
Wild theory: Darko knew he needed a passable bench PG so he promised Dennis a starting role to get him to sign on, all the while planning to swap in Scottie and move DS to the bench gradually by the all-star break. Darko mentioned post-game last night that they have been trying lots of stuff, including Scottie at point. Sounds like the ground work is being laid.
