  1. Notice how the line of Kreider-Zibanejad-Kakko has the least xGoals for per 60, but also gives up xGoals against at the lowest rate as well.

Although they did not produce much, they still have the best ratio, according to this metric because of their defensive prowess.

  2. Both lines will Cuylle have under 3.7 goals against. That kid is so fun to watch right now, I can’t wait until more goals start coming for him.

  3. The team is deep enough this year that they’ve still been winning and staying at or near the top of the league without Chytil and Kakko but I do think the drop off in quality of play and dominance of games without them has been really noticeable. Bonino has been a pleasant surprise as a depth player and has done as well as anyone could’ve expected filling in as 3C but there’s just no comparison between him and Chytil, while Kakko is a better defensive winger than anyone else in our current top 6.

  4. I said before on another post that the line with Laf and bread was better with Chytil and they have suffered a bit without him and I got downvoted into oblivion. Trocheck is playing VERY well don’t get me wrong but that line is simply better with Chytil who can drive play better. And Trocheck on 3rd gives Cuylle and Brodz a playmaker which they need because they can both score goals but they’re suffering a bit with Bonino as their C.

I still think the move we need to make at the DL is for a center who can play wing. Like a Monahan or if I’m wishing for Christmas, Lindholm. That 3rd line needs a better play driver and they’ll start contributing more goals and Bonino can go back to the 4th and bring a PK and FO specialist.

  5. I wonder what the kreider-mika-kakko stats would look like now, now that mika isnt a complete blackhole offensively
