When my Grandpa Joe (RIP) Turned 85, my mom wrote to the Cardinals on his behalf — they sent him a birthday present.

Phillies fan, coming in off-season peace.
Grandpa Joe was born and raised in St. Louis, but spent his life after retirement in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a lifelong Cardinals fan, but only really got to see them on TV when they were playing the Pirates. For his 85th birthday, my mom wrote to the Cardinals and the Cardinals’ FO responded with this letter and a bit of memorabilia (Not pictured: Lou Brock bobblehead — I don’t know where it is, and Mark McGwire 70 HR commemorative framed card, at my parents’ house.)
I’ve kept these things in an envelope in a drawer since he died at the age of 92 and we cleaned up all his things, but decided now was an opportunity to share them with you all.
