  1. I’d be okay with this if everybody else was held accountable for their actions.

But Barry is still here because…

Just feels like the locker room can’t love this….

  2. Jefferson is going to feast. He might have any way, but Jaire seems to take that matchup very serious.

  3. While I understand it, was it really necessary to suspend him for a game instead of benching him for a quarter or two?

  4. Damn, this is NOT good for keeping Jaire going forward.

Yes, he’s been hurt/played terribly this year, but there is no scenario where I want him gone this off-season, and I think, unfortunately, that is exactly what may happen…

  5. I’m a little surprised by this, but what Jaire did with the coin flip was completely unacceptable. You need to do something to make sure that doesn’t happen again. If people go around unpunished with something like this, you end up with players like the Steelers receivers.

  6. I wonder if there’s more to this?

I see being upset about the coin toss, but I would think a conversation, some gassers and maybe a fine would be more appropriate.

  7. Good. He’s got an attitude problem and a huge ego and now he thinks he’s above the team.

  8. They have to give Joe Barry someone else to blame when Jefferson goes off with an 8th string QB throwing to him this week.

  9. Agree with the team on this. Jaire needs to shut tf up and focus on being a professional football player.

  10. Had to happen. Cant have players pulling that shit. Shows zero respect to the entire coaching staff and teammates. Its bullshit. He shouldve been benched for the game after. He’ll be traded this offseason.

  11. I am shocked…he has been a turd all year.

Waiting for the Jaire defenders to join us and remind us that he is the goat.

I’ve been arguing with these people all year they will defend him to the end of the earth. Curious to see how they handle this news.

  12. I understand why they did it, but hope Jaire or the Packers FO don’t do anything drastic like ask/do a trade.

  13. Y’all need to stop comparing this to Joe Barry. Joe Barry has been bad at his job, not insubordinate. Jaire is paid to be a leader on and off the field. His performance towards that has been shit. Taking the liberty upon oneself to act as a player voted captain and almost fuck up a coin toss, absolutely unacceptable behavior. There is no justifiable reason for it. If he can’t respect the game, the decision, or the team’s effort to prevent it from happening again, then he is a cancer to the locker room. And if he’s a cancer, then send him somewhere else.

The response to Joe Barry’s ineffectiveness as a DC merits its own response for sure but you can’t compare the two and expect the same outcome.

  14. Absolutely insane that we’ve been needing the players to be held accountable for years now and when the team finally takes a step forward in doing so, we have people complaining.

No one man is above the team, I don’t care who you are or what situation we’re in. Don’t hurt the team and you won’t get suspended. What Jaire did was egotistical and idiotic and he deserves the one game. If he gets that upset over it due to a decision he made, then I don’t want him on this team.

How he responds to this will tell us a lot about who he is as a man, not just a football player.

Also how braindead do some of you have to be when comparing this to Barry. Barry isn’t coaching well, but he didn’t display any conduct detrimental to the team. That is not the same as this, so stop getting it twisted.

  15. jefferson is going to break the single game receiving record on this sorry ass defense. doesn’t even matter who his QB is because there won’t be any defenders within 10 yards of jj anyways

  16. I’m a big Jaire fan, but going out when you weren’t supposed to and then say something you’re not supposed to, while not really showing out on the field is a bad look, and very un-Packer like. Again I love the swag, but you gotta know your role. Hopefully he switches his mentality up, but honestly I think he’s over the Packers.

  17. Well earned by Jaire. What the hell was he thinking running out for the coin toss with the captains when he’s not a captain, and then calling the wrong starting position?

I feel like there was more leading up to this over the weeks prior behind the scenes as well.

  18. >”I said, ‘I want our defense to be out there,’ and they all looked at me like I was crazy,” Alexander said. “I’m like, I mean it’s pretty simple what I said, like I want the defense to be out there. They like, ‘You mean defer?’ and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I guess.'”

Not the brightest kid in the classroom.

  19. If anyone believes this is solely because of the Carolina game and nothing to do with the shoulder and the rumblings of issues between Alexander and the organization, I have a bridge to sell you.

  20. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t want to play here anymore. While I think the coin toss incident was sheer bravado and ignorance on his part, his off handed comments about Barry and the D as a whole shows he doesn’t like the schema, play calls, and team.

  21. People here need to stop bringing up Barry like his incompetency is somehow equal to straight up insubordination.

  22. Okay, so let me get this straight. They’ll suspend Ja$ for something that, in the grand scheme of things, does not matter and had no effect on the game (which I’m fine with, we don’t want an Antonio Brown on our team), but they’ll keep Barry until his contract expires after he single-handedly tanked any real hope this team had of making a semi-legitimate playoff run? Piss. Off. PACKERS. What a fucking joke.

  23. Jaire is getting traded this off season.

When asked if LaFool had told him what he thought of his injury time off, he said he doesn’t talk to coach. This dude is gone.

  24. Jaire got paid and has been a shadow of his former self on and off the field. Sad, but Ive seen this story before.

  25. Based on the comments so far, a bunch of you people never worked in a professional setting, and it shows.

  26. For those who don’t understand why Alexander faces consequences and Barry doesn’t, Barry isn’t openly subversive. He’s just bad at his job. Huge difference–like apples and oranges difference.
