    > Lots of buyers, few sellers. Part of that is the Play-In tournament, which has kept more teams trying to reach the postseason instead of dropping down into the lottery. Also, this isn’t considered a strong draft class at the very top, so there’s even less motivation to trade a postseason berth vs a few extra ping-pong balls in the lottery. There will be trades. There will be sellers. But the asking price is going to be high from the really bad teams to move off assets — so that slows down the marketplace a little.

    > The Zach LaVine market is still barren – especially with him working his way back from an injury.

    The 2024 NBA trade deadline is not currently expected to have a considerable amount of activity, nor the big name players such as last season when both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving were traded.

    “Lots of buyers, few sellers,” wrote Adrian Wojnarowski on Threads when asked what he anticipates for the trade deadline.

    “Part of that is the Play-In Tournament, which has kept more teams trying to reach the postseason instead of dropping down into the lottery. Also, this isn’t considered a strong draft class the very top, so there’s even less motivation to trade a postseason berth versus a few extra ping-pong balls in the lottery. There will be trades. There will be sellers. But the asking price is going to be high from the really bad teams to move assets — so that [it] slows down.”

    The Toronto Raptors are a team who could become significant sellers at the deadline due to the impending free agencies of OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam, but Wojnarowski reported that “Toronto just isn’t there yet on those decisions.”

  2. We certainly hold the two best assets that are going to be available (OG + Pascal). We need to move at least one of them and both if the right offers are there.

    I would love to deal OG to the Knicks. I know this is particularly unlikely given the ongoing law suit, but the Knicks failed to extend Quickly and he’s stuck behind Brunson.

    * Toronto – Quickly + Fournier + 2 x Protected Firsts
    * New York – OG + Malachi

    Even something like this and re-signing Pascal (to be moved later for higher value with years) is a win

  3. God I hope this boosts our returns on trades, so Masai/Bobby can unfuck the mess they put themselves in
