Also. It better not say “Philadelphia” on it. You’ve already taken my shoulder numbers; adding “Philadelphia” to a Phillies uniform would emotionally crater me.

Meh. I find the entire “City Connect” concept to be a blatant merchandising cash grab with zero personal appeal, so the specifics of the design don’t bother me one way or another.
An action news theme jersey would have been so much better

This was rumored months ago, didn’t have my hopes up then either. They hate anything remotely cool.
No clue who this person is but the source is presumably this Zolecki newsletter from today, which just says the uniform is ‘expected to incorporate some element of the City of Philadelphia flag’. Could be as simple as the crest as a sleeve patch.
Does anyone have like. A real affection for the city flag? I don’t live in the city so idk but I feel like I rarely see the thing even referenced anywhere

Maybe if they do something like U of Maryland uniform for something

Why can’t we just have a red or blue jersey that says Philadelphia with a Liberty Bell on the sleeves. That’s literally the connection with the city. The Philadelphia flag is not iconic at all.
I think they’ll probably fuck up the design because they’ve fucked up most of them, but I don’t think the city flag is a particularly awful choice.
If the city had a cool flag I would get it, but it’s just a dumb crest with 2 ugly colors. Literally indistinguishable from any other of the thousands of crest flags out there. Why pick this?
