Portland Trail Blazers rookie Kris Murray tonight in the G League: 24 points — 8 rebounds — 5 assists — 2 steals — 10/16 FG — 4/7 3P

Please go watch the Remix highlights and watch Murray dominate!!! The first 30 seconds had me so hype for Kris for that sick pass he made then that amazing block at the rim.

I know Kris was seen as more of playmaker than his brother who was the better shooter. I remember thinking pre-draft that if Kris ends up developing a jump shot like his brother, he may end up a more dynamic wing, whereas Keegan was a much bigger stretch 4 type of player.

I’ve seen some mini flashes during Kris short runs for us but that game he makes some amazing reads with plays off the bounce. Attacking close outs and making plays while knocking 4-7 3s as a 6’8 wing?! That is what Schmitz saw as a lottery level talent, I know there was some worries with him being a 23 year old rookie struggling. But LETS SEE HIM OUT THERE!!!

If I have to watch another minute of Scoot-Simons-Brog-Thybulle lineups while our 1st round pick is glued to the bench or at University of Portland ……………….

I am so happy that we have the Remix. I love the name and logo, I suck for not going to a game despite living so close to UP but I think it has done wonders for Kris, Rupert, Badji, and even Minaya. We even got Harkless back on the Remix still haha. I think I am ready for Kris/Rupert/Badji to get some real burn for us. That would require some of the vets to get moved but this is supposed to be a development year anyways.

  1. Good to see him making shots. From what I’ve seen of him with the Remix and the Blazers, the jumper just doesn’t go in that much even tho it looks like a nice shot. Hopefully this can be some momentum for him with the Remix.

  2. I’m curious what our plan is with Harkless. I assumed the plan was to get him some run and them bring him back to the blazers. Is he the oldest player in the the g league?

  3. A lot of these stats don’t translate well to the NBA. But 4/7 from 3 isn’t nothing. That’s very good efficiency.

  4. To be fair all those players you listed deserve minutes over him. He hasn’t really been good at anything in his limited minutes. I do agree we should be giving him some more minutes as we’re literally rebuilding and not winning. He plays w energy is the most positive thing I can say about him so far. I think we’re all pulling for him.
