Does anyone know why there are so few spring training games?

My Dad and I go to spring training every year and I’m struggling this year to even pick out a long weekend where the Pads are playing. Looks like I will have to drag my fam to more A’s games this year.

Because they are going to Korea. They will be playing the Dodgers as the “season opening”. They will be playing a few Korean teams as well.
Because we are opening the season in Korea for two games so team leaves the middle of March.
I think international games are cool yet losing a huge chunk of ST this year isn’t ideal for this current team. In particular if we are test driving guys from the farm system.
Part of the spring games for the padres will be against kbo teams
Are they doing the World Baseball Classic as well? If so that could also be a factor.
They have to balance increased international exposure vs the physical drain of a trip like that. I don’t know if the Padres receive any income from int’l merch sales or broadcasts or if it makes the team more desirable for foreign draft and free agents. It seems like most teams are scouring Asia for players.
