2. They got a decent haul for him. Less than they could have gotten if they’d have pulled the trigger earlier.

7. Could be interesting for POR. Like u/birdflag said, if NYK has interest in Mookie Dew, POR and NYK could make that work. NYK has some stuff. As long as the trade is open, third parties could get involved.

   POR could be interested in seeing what’s there with Precious, just like Cam/Knox last year. With Timelord being out, POR could use another big. That would also allow Reath to stay on the 2WP for the rest of the year. POR has TPE’s they could take Precious into, even with a restriction on combining players in trade. Although NYK is short bigs as well…

   As far as draft compensation, like u/theseus1234 pointed out, POR might not be looking for more picks in this draft. Getting a “best of” option for 2025, or later on around the time of the MIL/BOS picks might work better for POR. And/or swap options for any overlapping FRP’s. If there’s not room for as many picks as POR already has, in a weak draft class, POR might even be looking to consolidate this year, for more bites at the apple in future years.
