  1. Struck out the side in the clinching game of the World Series, absolute balls.

Was pretty much ineffective/hurt during the extension but I enjoyed this moment immensely.

  2. Me reading this post: Oh no, what happened????!

    Me googling:

  3. Sucks that he couldn’t keep his dominance going the last few years. He said all the right things here, but he’s gotta be pretty pumped to go to Atlanta

  4. Glad he had his moment and helped us win. Rooting for him to stay healthy in ATL.

    Obligatory FUCK MANNY MACHADO

  5. It really does suck to see him go. He was easily one of the best pitchers in the league in 2017 and 2018, and it was so fun to watch. I will always remember him.

Fact of the matter is though, he’s five years older, has hardly pitched since 2019, and simply isn’t worth that $27.5 million salary.

  6. He got a lot of hate because of all his injuries, but this moment right here is why he will always have a special place in my heart. I’ll be rooting for him to stay healthy with the Braves.

  7. The one game I was able to see at Fenway this past year was his return against the Tigers in August. Think he fanned 7 in 4.2 IP. Hope he can stay healthy in Atlanta

  8. Three thoughts on this
    1. The Chris Sale TRADE, was a huge win and was a huge part of the 2018 world series, which was on the deal he came with from Chicago. Also, Moncada and Kopech have ended up being average players at best, so not a huge loss there.
    2. The Chris Sale EXTENSION was a disaster.
    3. Fuck Manny Machado

  9. He was feared when he was healthy. Nobody wants to hear Chris Sale’s chin music.

Too much baggage for him and the fans here in Boston by now even though we don’t get 2018 without him.

Glad he has a chance at a fresh start. Hopefully they don’t even use him as a starter over there. Give him 2 innings here and there and he becomes the grim reaper of middle relief.

  10. Only slightly heartbroken over this. I know a lot of people feel differently about him but I loved this guy for us. Fierce competitor. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him have a great year no matter how many innings.

  11. Dang that brings back good memories. I loved that team as I’m sure we all did. I watched that clip a good few times 😅

  12. Doesn’t it look like Pedroia says “strike this bitch out” before the 3rd strike or something like that.. not that I noticed it I thought I heard somewhere people thought he was saying that

  13. I’ll never forget that image of him entering in the 9th with the rest of the bullpen up on their feet cheering for him. It’s a toss-up between that and the season ending with Machado on his knees for my favorite 2018 memories.

And just in case it hasn’t been mentioned, fuck Manny Machado.

  14. Man I loved me some Chris Sale. I don’t follow enough to know if this is a good trade for us or not, but it’s sad to know Sale isn’t on the team now. Hope he’s able to stay healthy.
