  1. 141 IP for Sale is crazy bullish.

Honestly so is 185 for Fried after only 77 IP last year. He has only hit 185 IP once and adding 110 IP from last year is a lot

  2. 141 innings from sale is crazy to expect.

They are really really expecting morton, sale, and elder to be pretty mid too.

  3. But I was told the Dodgers had already won the 2024 world series and every single one for the next decade

  4. As a Sox fan I genuinely hope Sale puts up 2.6 WAR for Atlanta. Also as a Sox fan hahahaha yeah right get real.

  5. I’ll cut up my itchy Red Sox jersey and get my belly button pierced if Chris Sale pitches 140 innings.

  6. They are definitely the team to beat. Fried will win the Cy Young and come home to LA in 2025.

That said, projections seem optimistic for a team that screams some good deal of regression from last season.

  7. Projections seem high, but another veteran voice can’t hurt things for the Braves. Plus Grissom probably wasn’t going to get any pt anytime soon. Seems like a reasonable trade.

  8. My sister lives in Morton’s hometown and he had the nickname “Double Dick Charlie”

I have no idea what that means.

  9. My god, FIP is ruining front office thinking. I think he either pitches fewer and is good but barely pitches or pitches this many and is bad

  10. The fact Smith-Shawver is an up and comer means that when Chris goes down AJ can get some IP in the big leagues on a reserve basis. That’s quality right there

  11. I hope either the braves or the dodgers wins the NL this year, or the cardinals

    Or the giants

    Or the Rockies

    One of them

    Maybe the Mets.

  12. I agree with the rest of you: FanGraphs seems exceedingly generous here, and projections aren’t worth jack, really … but still, it makes me proud given all the noise the Dodgers have made this winter.

  13. Getting knocked out of the playoffs early has really skewed the broader baseball fandom’s view that the Braves are still probably the best team in the league. Dodgers have star names, but the Braves are really deep and boast two top candidates for the best pitcher (Strider) and best position player (Acuna) in the NL in 2024. And their stars are younger, Acuna, Olson, Riley, Albies, Murphy, and Harris III are all under 30.
