  4. The biggest takeaway from me is that at every turn, when asked about financial freedom – both Kennedy and Bloom consistently said they had the backing and full support of Ownership.

    From Cotillo’s piece, that appears to now have been complete bullshit – a PR fabrication.

    They reiterated the same points at the end of year / Breslow presser.

    Nothing like deceiving your customer base – it’s a great way to piss them off.

  6. honestly just makes me sad. I love this team, I want to be able to support this team, but ownership just makes it impossible. I was honestly starting to get excited after the Sale trade yesterday cause it felt like the path forward was starting to reveal itself, and now all these reports to day have just taken a big fat dump on all that.

  10. This is 100% coming from an agent trying to stir up shit during a negotiation. I am still fully expecting them to be over the tax going into the season.

    Also should be obvious now that in hindsight 2022 was the year to reset the tax penalties. The free agent market this year is just so much worse than it was the last 2 years. Should have reset in 2022 and gone big last year.

  18. Henry spinning off the Red Sox into a corporation (FSG) while also diversifying the corporation with non MLB non red sox assets ensures stable ownership into the foreseeable future – long after Henry (presently in his 70s) passes away.

    That’s either a blessing or curse depending on your viewpoint.

    All “relatively” close ball parks (all are lovely/fuck Yankee stadium.)the Red Sox are playing in this year. So if you want to travel and see them without having to give John Henry’s greedy ass your money.

    In fact, it’d probably be cheaper to stay in Pittsburgh for the night, see them play and drive back, then one trip to Fenway costs…
