Did we ever get an explanation for why this ball stuck to Yadi’s chest protector?

sticky stuff
It was all explained in The Prestige.
“I don’t know. That’s a dumb question.”
Pinetar
Ask Bauer.
It is technically possible to throw a ball at a wall and have it pass right through. It is so unlikely that it essentially will never happen, but there is still a non-zero chance that it does happen.
yes, almost instantly
It means pitchers were doctoring the ball with sticky-stuff earlier than we first began hearing rumors.
Was it not pine tar (or other stickiness) on his chest protector to do essentially exactly what it did? I assumed it was to keep wild dirt balls closer to him because they sorta stick to the sticky pad and don’t bounce away as far. But this time it really stuck.
it was long suspected that yadi would put tack on his chest protector and call for balls in the dirt before a big pitch. this was the beginning of the end of that
cum
I mean everyone knows why, but St Louis soooooooooo, no penalties
The explanation is that yadi was trash and was cheating.
Anybody who thinks that pine tar can make this happen is a goddam moron. The stitching on the ball got spun into the stitching on his chest protecter.
Reminder that pine tar on chest protectors is legal
Would sticky stuff really explain this though? That’s mighty sticky stuff.
When we said he was a ball magnet, we were being literal.
*intangibles*
Ask Gerrit Cole about it. It’s always funny
Spider Tack would be my guess
Clearly the sticky icky icky ooowee
Hers the explanation. MLB check pitchers but not catchers. So every time he touches the ball he’s rubbing some sticky stuff for the pitcher. The pitcher then avoids getting caught by the ump. Also if he missed a pitch and it bounces off his chest it won’t roll far away instead it stays close due to the sticky impact.
