[Henderson} A note from @ESPNStatsInfo that illustrates how poor the Seahawks’ tackling was today: The Steelers had 132 rushing yards after contact, their second-most in a game since ESPN began tracking the stat in 2009 (136 vs. Cleveland last season).

  1. Yeah. It’s not scheme. It’s execution. People are in position to stop the run but just aren’t tackling.

    Bad D Line play.

    Bad LB okay.

    Bad safety play.

  2. This is just another instance of terrible tackling. It’s been like this all season, all last season, and even more seasons back. Nothing has ever happened. I’m not necessarily calling for Pete to be fired, but I’m calling for something. Just not sure what yet.

  3. I remember when this team had a somewhat decent run defense earlier in the season… boy oh boy what a dumpster fire of regression this team has had on that front.

  4. I want Clint hurt gone immediately.

I want a real DC not some fucking bum within the organization they can promote.

And last but not least. I love Pete, the man deserves a statue. But he needs to take a more hands off approach cuz this shit ain’t working

  5. I feel like my 41 year old non athletic ass could at least go for 75 against the Hawks limp dick defense

  6. I wonder if Adams going on the IR brought the morale down for the D — idk if he was a great locker room presence tho? Poor tackling like we saw today is just lack of effort, be curious to see who is going to step up on D and be “that guy” , I’m thinking Spoon, Brooks was doing well before he got hurt

  7. Around 2015 (I think), we brought in some rugby players to teach tackling techniques. It resulted in an immediate improvement in our tackling. Apparently we’ve never bothered to do this since.

So many times it seems Pete finds a thing that works and then promptly stops doing it. I just don’t get it.

  8. Fans are saying it’s not the coaches fault about tackling but when a team comes out that flat and uninspired at the end of a season for a crucial game, I think it’s fair to point at the leaders at the top.

  9. Pathetic how fans can’t blame the players on the field for getting smoked in competition…coaches don’t tackle

When Tiger or McIlroy blow up on the course, done blame the coach?

  10. Our defensive players, outside of Spoon, have no fire. There’s a lack of energy that we sorely need. During the LOB, Kam and Sherm set the tone.

  11. Clearly the D was gassed because Russ refused to take the wide-open, oh, wait, ummm, errr, uhhh, Geno is not even mid and just stares-down open receivers, leading to sacks and three-and-outs. Yeah, that’s the ticket)

But seriously, on several plays, they were trying to get the ball out instead of tackling. That’s a strange coaching decision….
