  1. “Okay, thanks, but can you provide an answer with actual insight because this is shit”.

  2. This is the correct answer. This attitude is why Chet is going to be a hell of a player for a long time.

So many kids in the draft each year, when asked to comp themselves to a former or current NBA player, will say things like “Chris Paul, but bigger” “Uh, Dwight Howard with a jumper” “Steph Curry’s shooting with Yao Ming’s size, John Stockton’s passing, and LeBron’s athletic ability.”

Like, slow your roll, dude. How about “I think I can play a Jose Alvarado role” or something reasonable? It’s never that. It’s never “I think I play a lot like Cedi Osman.” It’s always a star, but somehow, they’re fucking better than that half the time. Like, dude…you averaged 6 points in the MAC last year…
    calm the fuck down.

  3. I respect that. Mans said it well, 30 games aint enough to prove anything. But the mans still shown quite a lot of good things that prove his potential.

  4. Its a good answer doesn’t mean its a genuine answer. Players know that media and fans eat up the “stay humble stay grinding” shit. He does seem like a dog though

  5. Lip service. He probally cheesing to the fact that he up there wit webby. If I were him, I would say something like ” I’m proving right now that I’m the true slim reaper. My game is evolving constantly and most of the league can’t keep up and the few that can, soon won’t.”

  6. He’s been phenomenal so far this season, by many metrics a top 20 player in terms of overall impact.

That said he’s also just now arriving at the total games played mark that he hit in college. Will be interesting to see if he hits any kind of rookie wall, because as of now he’s only been getting better as the season goes on.

  7. Can tell from his interviews that the guy lives and breathes basketball. Pure baller like KD

  8. Whatever it is, he’s got it. This guy is going to rock the league for many years to come

  9. a guy from Minneapolis saying the word shit? by golly we rustled a few feathers with this guy

  10. Wow that’s a totally different answer than the one he gave pre draft. He either got humbled or didn’t wanna sound cocky

  11. Dude is a straight dooooggg.

Every postgame when they interview it goes something ‘we did some good things but we have a lot of things we need to work on.. gonna watch some tape and learn from our mistakes and try to be better tomorrow’

  12. Good answer. He’s right. That said, he’s played really well. Definitely has the potential to be a top guy in the league in a few years if he keeps at it.

  13. Zion Williamson was asked what he thinks he’s proven so far. His response? “I haven’t proven shit. I’ve eaten 30 plates.”

  14. This quote from a NYT interview with him last January really made me like him.

“We’re winning games at the buzzer, we’re losing games at the buzzer,” he said. “We’re winning games by 4 points, we’re losing games by 4 points. It’s not like we’re losing every game by 30 points. I don’t have to try to come in and be Superman. I just have to figure out how to help make this team 5 points better and then keep building from there.”

  15. When the guys who are top recruits from 14-18 make the NBA it feels like they’ve been there longer, kinda hard to believe he’s still only 21 and is basically a rookie.

  16. Move the team back to Seattle and I’ll hop on the bandwagon. And as a Warriors fan, I can assure you Chet is HIM.
