Nikola Topic, on loan for Mega MIS, is going back to play for Red Star, the club he grew up supporting (in a stadium with 20,000 seats).
Red Star wants Topic to help them in the Euroleague, with their new defensive-oriented coach (“Giannis Sfairopoulos, who previously helped Washington Wizards forward Deni Avdija become a top-10 NBA draft pick at Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2020”)
Mega MIS’ pace was one of the fastest in the ABA Adriatic League with Topic at the helm.
It is the slowest in the ABA with Red Star, so he’ll have to adapt to a new style of play, playing more games, in a harder league.
Nikola Topic is averaging 18.5 PnRs per game currently, which ranks Number 1 in the Adriatic League, by a large margin.

Good news:
Topic will train and develop at a higher level, and with a different style of play (will still be 18 until next August).
Bad news:
If he’s as good as he was in the ABA, he might end up being a lock for Top 2 or 3, and we might miss the mark…
Got him on my fantasy dynasty team. Hope he goes to San Antonio 🙏🏼
If he can show up well then he will be #1.
He played his first game with Red Star yesterday vs Fenerbahce and looked alright. 4/1/4 in about 20 minutes of play but didn’t look overwhelmed vs a big club in Euro play.
