  1. Makes sense, he played well last night. Perhaps Hildeby will get a start against the shitty sharks

  2. Doesn’t make sense to me. Back to back against the Ducks seems like the perfect chance for a start

  3. Oh nooooooooooo I can’t believe Keefe his playing his goalie who got a shutout last night instead of having Hildeby playing behind a tired team 🙁

  4. I get that Hildeby has one NHL practice and a third period of a preseason game of NHL experience but with there being zero reports that Woll is close probably means there going to need Jones for a while here and that Hildeby will need to play eventually so why not give Jones a three day break between starts and not overwork him on a back-to-back against a bad out of conference team? Also why not just call up Petruzzelli and keep Hildeby in a grove with the Marlies if you’re not going to play him?

  5. This is the correct call. Play the goalie who played well last night, give hildeby the start against the sharks with a rested roster.

  6. I get this decision in a vacuum but if jones gets injured, which is generally more likely to happen after playing the night before too, aren’t the leafs completely screwed? I think I’d play it “safe”, even if safe in this sense in a beast who has never played in the league before

  7. Hard to argue with a shutout, if Martin is healthy and wants the start you give it to him

  8. Might as well risk Jones to being overworked/injured… fuck it lets go all in on the season in January.. if this kid can’t play they should have called up Petruzelli

  9. If Jones gets injured you’re all going to look like idiots. Then Hildebeast will get thrown into the fire.

  10. It’s worth noting that Jones has played 450 games as a goalie without sustaining any significant injury. He’s been exceptionally durable his whole career and there’s nothing to suggest that will change.

  11. Meanwhile he didn’t play Jones on the last B2B and threw away two points with Samsonov
