I don’t think I had ever seen my mom more angry during a chiefs game and that’s saying something.. I will never forget her rage as that lead continued to slip away. “I JUST WANT TO WIN A PLAYOFF GAME AGAIN! WE’VE LOST EVERY ONE SINCE YOU WERE BORN!”
I’m sure she didn’t mean anything by it.. lmao
Too soon. Too soon man.
I didn’t need to be reminded of this lmao
That being said I’m going into the playoffs with the mindset of “This team has already won 2 Super Bowls in 4 seasons I can live with them losing”
The only thing that’d really make me upset is if Cleveland wins the Super Bowl
This was the most soul crushing Chiefs playoff loss I ever watched. It always comes to mind when people bitch about losing any games these days after two Super Bowl wins.
Too soon….
I still have 1995 Lin Elliot issues
Facebook was the first to remind me that I travelled to this disaster of a game then had to drive through a snowstorm to get my brother back in time for work the next day.
Yeah man, I’m still not ready to talk about this one.
Can we actually put up 44 points on the road in the playoffs this year?
Not hatin’ — just being realistic
I wasn’t even that into football a decade ago, so I’m curious… did Andy Reid just forget to run the ball in the second half?
I was at the game. I was chased out of town by the colts fans! It was awesome!.
31-10 at half… felt too good
Colorado had legalized weed on the 1st. We went out for a ski trip and were watching the game at a Chiefs bar. At half we started smoking some of the best weed I’d ever had. That mixed with some celebratory shots and we blacked out proper. Woke up the next morning to learn they had blown the lead.
The Steelers 6 FG game will be the one I will always be the most upset about
I’ll never forget that game. It was insane
So this game was happening during my very first visit to Kansas City. My wife and I were in town for a wedding and at the time I wasn’t a huge football fan but still loved the Bears as my family is from Illinois. I totally forgot this game was even on that day and we went back to our hotel after the wedding and napped for a bit. My uncle lives in Indiana and he got me some really warm Colts pajamas that I brought with me because it was snowing and cold as hell. My dumbass woke up from our nap and convinced my wife to go to the original Oklahoma Joes for dinner while wearing my super warm pajamas. It didn’t click with me as to why I was getting all the dirty looks until u looked at my phone and saw the ESPN update.
Burnt ends were still money though.
Omg I remember being in standstill traffic in OK on the way home from the cotton bowl, in a snow storm. And watching this shit show unfold. I’ll never forget it!!!!! It was possibly one of the worse losses of all time right? Hit so hard. Crazy how far we’ve come though but man that feeling was awful
Who is that corner or safety we had that the colts just threw it at him for 5 straight touchdowns?
Man that was a nightmare game lol
I worked late nights at the time, so being up before the afternoon back then counted as being up early for me. Shortly before halftime, I was so comfortable with the way the game was going that I risked lying down on the couch to watch, and promptly fell asleep.
When I woke up, the game was over and I was so pissed at myself for having slept through the Chiefs first playoff win since I was around 10 years old. I couldn’t believe that I missed it! I then looked up the final score and, well…
The Chiefs had SO MANY injuries in this game, if they just had one or two less they could have held on no doubt.
Gee, thanks. I was doing really well at not remembering that game specifically. I still have PTSD from that one, which is why I’d prefer not to have KC play the Colts in the playoffs again.
Fuck I tried to forget that game. How much were we up at half?
This was my first playoff game as a chiefs fan and safe to say I think about this every single season.
I was at this game with my buddy. Awesome first half and then came the dumpster fire. Then had to drive home in an ice storm the next day.
Me and my dad still talk about this game to this day because we both sat there in disbelief as we watched our team blow that 4td lead.
