Leslie Frazier ready for second stint as head coach, hopes for opportunity to be ‘a part of this hiring cycle’

Will be interesting to see where he ends up, also would we get a comp pick if he signs someone since he’s technically still under contract?

  1. i also wonder if he signs with someone as a DC if that would factor into the comp pick formula as well.

  2. I mean, regardless of what Bills fans may feel about Frazier, the chances of him getting a HC job seems virtually non-existent at this point. Especially after the year off.

No franchise wants to “start over” with a guy in his mid-60s.

  3. “Since stepping back, Frazier has worked with NFL Network and The 33rd Team to stay connected to the game and expand when it comes to analytics. He said he’s also been Zooming with coaches about game-planning for specific teams over the past few months………”

Wonder what specific teams he has helped coaches game plan for 🤔

  4. Absolute 0 shot this guy is ever a head coach again. He had a shot 2 years ago and that was his last opportunity. Everyone saw 13 seconds, everyone saw the defense in the playoffs last year

  5. It’s sad but he will probably get a bunch of ghost interviews just to fill teams minority rule for interviewing coaches.

  6. He really missed out striking while the iron was hit a few years ago. The trend is younger offensive minds. Retread HC, especially defensive minded ones are not going to be getting legit looks at this point. Pretty sure McDermott will be the only defensive minded HC in the playoffs, if (when) we make it.

  7. Bro what?? No franchise is gonna go anywhere near this guy. You can’t take a “gap year” in the NFL. Also, our defense has looked great this year with McD play calling so I’m not sure he even has a place in Buffalo still.

  8. Ignore for a minute our defense has been exponentially better without him in charge…

The guy has had chances repeatedly, decided to quit for a year because he saw the writing on the wall, and now wants to come back as a HEAD coach? My man needs to be checked for dementia at this point.

  9. Teams looking for a grown-up in the room will definitely want him. He has a better shot as DC

  10. He’s throwing shade at the Bills but unless he’s been secretly behind the Ravens’ success or something he’s not getting an OC job.

This guy choked 13 Seconds, and while that in and of itself might not be a career killer since it was one game against a future top 10 all time QB and coach, the Bills defense was practically non-existent once Von Miller went down last season. Every game, including against Skylar Thompson’s Dolphins, became an offensive shootout.

Say what you want about McDermott, the dude can coach a defense. Whenever our offense can’t get it going for a few drives this season, I’m not as worried as I was when it was Frazier’s defense.

  11. Well this explains why a couple months ago he came out and actually confirmed that he indeed did not get fired, or was not given some sort of image-friendly ultimatum by the Bills, and that he did actually step away on his own accord.

He was gearing up for a ride on the head coach carousel that happens in the NFL every off-season.

  12. The trend is New, young and offensive minded for head coaches. Leslie is a retread, old defensive minded head coach. His only shot would’ve been a interim head coach job at best.

  13. I think very highly of Coach Frazier – I think people are too blinded by 13 Seconds to remember how freaking good the defenses he built here were.

However…it’s going to be really really tough for him to be a HC again. Fair or not.

I actually think he would make some sense for the Chargers. They have a QB. They need a competent defensive structure and some professionalism.

  14. He would be an improvement over the HC’s of some teams this year…hope he gets a shot somewhere.

  15. I never knew Leslie actually played football, but he clearly has CTE anyway if he thinks he’s getting a head coach job

  16. I also hope for an opportunity to be a part of this hiring cycle. I feel like I have just as much chance as Leslie.
