  1. He easily had one of the worst situations for a first year QB this year. Not to excuse him for any of his shortcomings, but senile Ron and co did him ZERO favors. I know one day he’ll get another shot and put on a show. I’ll hang up the jersey for now but it’ll never leave the shelf my comrade 🫡

  2. Sam Howell definitely had some moments and he probably would have gotten more years to develop/play if we didn’t get the #2 pick and a new regime (most likely)

  3. As a sam howell guy…Iv already put in my head that we are moving on.. and its probably for the best…2nd year starter learning a new offense dropping back 30+times a game with a terrible defense was not gonna be successful

  4. Y’all might see me looming around these posts talking about Sam.

I was pretty pumped when he was feeling it during that Seattle game!

Think the kid deserves another shot just idk if it will be here

  5. Man I’ve been off the Howell train for a long time now, but I have to admit he gave me so much fucking hope early into the season. I really thought we had done it. He really made “NFL QB” throws. Thought we found our late round QB gem that we were not gonna fuck up this time like we did with Kirk especially with the bad man gone.

His death spiral after the Seahawks game was just insane though. Really sad. Good luck Sam, wish it worked out here.

  6. I supported from camp the idea that taking a chance to have a decent starting QB at a fifth round rookie pay scale for 3 years was a solid gamble. The first major disappointment was the Giants game, but I still thought he should start all 17 games this year at that point. By the Seattle game it even seemed more likely than not that he would keep progressing to the 2024 starting job.

He did not keep progressing. In fact he didn’t even plateau. His regression and collapse in the last 7 games was so dramatic and total that I just don’t agree with anyone who still tries to pin it on the team around him. But there is a poll on the sub where last I checked about 80% wanted to pick a QB at 2, so the truthers are a minority.

  7. At this point we moving on, NFL unfortunately is a tough business

But u cannot doubt he didn’t put his all for us, didn’t complain about the number of times he was hit and didn’t back down to the challenge.

  8. He was put in a bad situation just like almost every QB we drafted before him, showed some promise and tons of potential but also showed he had a lot to work on. With the second overall pick and new coaches coming in it sucks for him

  9. We broke him. I’ve never seen a QB go from “oh he is developing very ideally” to “what the hell is this.” Hope he finds his way in the league, he is a TOUGH SOB

  10. We are most gonna get Caleb Williams but I don’t know what will happen to Sam. Maybe he’ll just stay here until his contracts up or we’ll trade him for a 5th or 4th.

  11. I love you Sammy I wish we weren’t in this situation where you could just get another chance next season
