Cam’s development

I don’t wanna get into the discussion about how great Cam is and how much better or worse he is compared to Jalen.

Rn it’s pretty obvious that he is talented but lacks basketball iq, struggles to make the right read and is a ball stopper.

With that being said, what are the chances of him improving in those areas. In my opinion, feel for the game is maybe the toughest area to improve on, but I try to think that Ime and the veterans will be able to fix him. They did with Dillon, right?

Look at fvv’s reaction after the play that cam missed him on an open 3.

Am I being too optimistic and biased towards our rookies? My friends think that players with those flaws are limited to a 6th man role.

  1. He’s 19 and a rookie. Jalen is still getting excuse he’s 21. Why not wait 1-2 years to see if Cam can improve?

  2. That play was certainly one for the film session and I’m sure Fred will continue letting him hear it if he continues to have tunnel vision. But no, I wouldn’t take it as an indictment on his entire career that he missed one open teammate. Overall, he’s already moderated his black hole tendencies dramatically since the preseason, I’ve liked the progress.

  3. Cam’s a rookie. This is why they have vets. He will learn. Its a process. People have epiphanies. He will have a moment where this becomes clear. He’s not stupid. He also got drafted with a great passer who can open up his eyes to the game in Amen. Just wait. Enjoy the process

  4. Y’all are reading too deep into this, I’m just glad players are holding each other accountable, the young ones as well who need it.
