  1. Playing like shit for most of the game then amounting a half-assed attempt at a comeback is so 2021.

  2. Skipped the game because I had the nagging feeling we were gonna shit the bed… I feel so bad for Glasser. I remember watching the behind the scenes in the lead up to the Euro games and him crying when Police told him he made the team. I saw that he apparently shit the bed tonight. What do we think is gonna happen with him now?

  3. Managed to salvage some pride at the end there. Time to beat the shit out of the stars on Friday.

  4. Like I said in the game thread I missed the last 15 minutes aka the only good part of the game but boy do I have some thoughts about what I saw. I thought Tomasino, Evangelista, Forsberg, and Nyquist were pretty much the only ones who looked like they gave a shit tonight. The rest of the team was either fairly nonexistent or just plain bad. And I hate to say it cause I really like the guy but it’s getting close to time to have a conversation about Glass’ future

  5. So 2 own goals, 2 breakaways after the PP expires, and 1 legit snipe. Talk about shooting yourselves in the foot. Let’s make a Pro/Con list for tonight.

    Pro’s:

    Carrier and Tomasino scored.

    Con’s:

    Scoring on your own net.

Lack of effort because you just beat the Stars and forgot you were in the NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE.

    Powerplay.

    Puckhandling.

    Effort.

    The first 55 minutes.

Oh well, on to the next one.

  6. This game was a real dream killer to someone who both wants to trade for Zegras (if we’re “retooling” and not actually rebuilding) and someone who wants to trade Saros (so we can actually rebuild).

Saros needs some time off to reset. He’s been chased his last 2 games, 6 on the season. His last 5 save %s are: .737, .781, 1.000 (chicago), .800, .848. Average of .833.

Blame it on the D, blame it on him, whatever. That’s just too low and he needs to clear his head. Would love to see Askarov in net one or twice during the next stretch while Saros takes a minute off.

  7. On paper, it’s great we have had amazing goalies like Saros/Rinne to allow our def to cheat up and play OFF. Theoretically, this is a potent playstyle that pours on the points and our Vezina goaltender cleans up the breakaways/mistakes.

But goddamn, it is bad when our goalie is having an off night. This ain’t the D-corp to play around with to score goals.

Barrie/Fabbro aren’t good enough offensively to overcome their braindead mistakes. Lauzon is too slow to cheat up as much as he does. Schenn is just fucking old.

Literally should only be doing that shit when Josi/McD are out there. Maybe Carrier too but he’s been more up and down than I expected from him after his rookie season where he looked like mini-Josi
